Today’s guest perfectly personifies the intersection of AOC’s various audiences. Not only a coach, Luka Hocevar is also a business man, entrepreneur AND a master storyteller. Trust me, you’re going to have a hard time believing some of the stories he shares… Born and raised in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Luka credits basketball, fitness and coaching for taking him from a path of crime to playing professional basketball. Following his playing career, Luka pursued his passion of training. As the founder and co-owner of Vigor Ground gym in Ljubljana, Slovenia and owner of Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance in Seattle, WA, Luka has coached over 3,000 elite athletes (in the NBA, NFL, UFC, MLB, college and high school), rehab patients and clients from every walk of life. Luka is also the creator of Vigor Ground Fitness and Business Summit, an educational event for coaches and gym owners. Luka and Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance have been featured in Mens Health, Stack Magazine, Onnit Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, HBO Real Sports, Precision Nutrition, as well as CBS, FOX, USA Today, ABC and KING5 New Day NW as Seattle’s top fitness expert. In today’s episode we discuss: The role of deception in effective leadership Creating an environment to practice chaos and adversity Is there a difference between leadership and management? How vulnerability and humility can be “overdone” "What’s difficult is scarce and what’s scarce is valuable" If you love the stuff Luka talks about in this episode, but are new to the field and just need help getting started, we have a new resource for you.
