Today, we are going to continue in our study of Genesis as we're starting a new series entitled Dysfunction Junction.

And over the next few weeks, we will see how God brings redemption to dysfunctional families.

And that's good news because every family is a bit dysfunctional.

Today, our Blanken Baker High School pastor, Brock O'Dell, will be teaching a message called

Home Hurt. So grab your Bible, open your notebooks, and welcome Brock as he comes to preach.

So I was at the gym the other day, lifting an embarrassing amount of weight, and this man approaches me, interrupts me, and so I take out my headphones, and he leans in, and he says,

has anybody ever told you that you are an incredible leader?

And in that moment, I'm feeling pretty good about myself.

Like, I'm feeling pretty confident and gassed up.

I'm like, thanks, man.

That really means a lot to me.

And in that moment, I wish that our conversation would have ended right there

so that I could have kept feeling really confident.

Because the next question out of his mouth was, so how are things down south in Tennessee?

And I realize in that moment that this man thinks he's talking to somebody that I am not.

It's something that happens to me quite often, actually.
