Summary

Garret Price and Andrew Mott break down dynasty fantasy football tear down players — players they still like, but who may be valued too highly in the current dynasty market. Using KYC values as a guide, they discuss when it makes sense to trade down from elite or high-priced dynasty assets and collect extra value while keeping similar production. Players discussed include Lamar Jackson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Trey McBride, George Pickens, Saquon Barkley, and Kenneth Walker. Should you cash out on these dynasty stars before their value drops? Which players can you pivot to? And how can you turn one expensive asset into multiple lineup pieces or future picks? Welcome back into the Dynasty Nerds podcast. I am your host, Garrett Price. We've got Andrew

0:05.3

Mott over here as well. And today we are looking at tier down players, guys that we like,

0:12.1

but they're a little too high in value, and we might be able to get a lot more in similar

0:17.0

production from other players. So let's dig right into it.

0:21.6

But before we do, if you're liking this content, make sure to like, subscribe, and hype

0:26.2

these videos.

0:26.9

Andrew, who's the first one you have for us today?

0:31.1

Yeah, so my first tier down is going to be Lamar Jackson, quarterback for the Baltimore

0:36.1

Ravens.

0:36.6

And I feel like this offseason, you and I have talked a little bit about Lamar Jackson, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens. And I feel like this offseason,

0:38.5

you and I have talked a little bit about Lamar Jackson on multiple videos, kind of just saying

0:42.2

that he's a player we are cautiously moving forward with in Dynasty because of the rushing

0:48.0

that he presents and some of the regressions we saw in the rushing last year in 2025. So he's somebody that I'm tearing down off of.

0:55.8

Now, for the folks at home, we used Keep Trade Cut as our database that we were referencing for

1:01.8

these moves just to see where these guys are being valued in a contingent market. Keep Trade

1:06.4

Cut kind of gives us a visual of that. So that's what we're doing in this one. So for me,

1:10.0

I'm moving down off of Lamar Jackson where I can. If you're a super strong contender and you want to keep Lamar Jackson because you think the points are going to be that much different, keep him. Go ahead. But if you're not a strong contender, I think you can pivot from him to a guy like Jalen Hertz or to a guy like Trevor Lawrence or Bo Nix, one of those quarterbacks in that grouping where there's kind of a meshed tier there. And the difference that it says that you can get over there on that calculator. Now take that with a grain of salt, it's going to be different in every league market, is a late first round pick. So if I can move from Lamar to Bo Nix and get a first round pick thrown into my deal, that feels like a no-brainer because I look at Lamar Jackson and yes, he has been game-breaking for fantasy football purposes.

1:52.6

But if what we saw last year from the rushing standpoint tends to be a little bit more of the same, maybe it's better than it was last year, but if it tends to be more of the same over the next two years, I could see the gap between Lamar and Tila or Lamar and

2:07.0

Bo or Lamar and Jalen Hertz being a lot smaller of a gap than it is today. And if you waited to do this

2:13.5

move one to two years from now, you would not be able to get a first round pick thrown into

2:17.6

that deal, not even accounting for the fact that guys like Jalen Hertz have been top seven,

2:22.8

top ten quarterbacks in fantasy already over the last couple of seasons. Trevor just did it last
