| 0:00.0 | Hi there and welcome to the Rota Wire Fantasy Baseball podcast. Today is Thursday, August 24th. It's going to be a solo show today. I am going to be answering your prospect questions. And I am also going to give you a list of my top 10 prospects for the 2024 season. I know we've still got plenty of baseball left in 2023, but a lot of people have |
| 0:24.7 | been asking me about those lists, and I thought this was a great opportunity to do so. |
| 0:29.1 | But first, I'll answer some of your questions. |
| 0:31.7 | Change the names to protect the innocent. |
| 0:33.9 | So, you know, you guys who sometimes worry about what your league is thinking, what you'll |
| 0:38.5 | do, I appreciate it and totally understand. So first off, we have Dieter. I can only keep one |
| 0:45.3 | next year, Brooks Lee or Colson Montgomery. This is a really interesting question to start us off. |
| 0:52.6 | And I have to be honest, all of the questions here are fantastic in my humble estimation. But this is an interesting one just because Montgomery's stock has been rising, I think as much as any prospect in baseball. | 1:14.5 | I think it is Montgomery, but I think it's closer than you might think. |
| 1:19.4 | Montgomery has the higher ceiling. |
| 1:21.6 | I don't think there's any question about it. |
| 1:23.1 | A guy who not that long ago, as of recording, just a couple days before recording had an on-base |
| 1:28.9 | percentage above 500. |
| 1:30.5 | Now, missed time with an injury and has only played in about 45 games. |
| 1:34.2 | But the ceiling is obvious. |
| 1:35.6 | This is a shortstop who can hit for average and he can hit for power. |
| 1:39.7 | I don't think he's going to steal a ton of bases. |
| 1:41.7 | That's not really his game. |
| 1:43.4 | The Corey Seeger |
| 1:44.2 | comps are lazy for every left-handed hitting white shortstop, but they're easy to see. It's easy |
| 1:50.9 | to understand. They do have a bit of a similar skill set. I think Seeger has the higher hit tool, |
| 1:56.8 | but I think Montgomery could develop more power, and his approach that they play is really impressive. |
