So this is one of those podcasts where the best fall worlds loss is our gain because we got someone who

recently was working in the league in the D league for both the hawks and in the Pacers organization

with the Mad Ants but taking it some time right now to do some media stuff and we're all gaining

from that with his expertise Dylan Murphy. How are you man? Doing well man thanks for having me.

Absolutely so some of my newer listeners may not know who you are. Some of my listeners who've

been following NBA Twitter may know who you are because you actually did a lot of media stuff

before you're one of those who transitioned from media into working in basketball so you just

give us a quick idea of what your background is before we talk about what you've been seeing the

season and and a little bit more pick your brain a little bit more about some of this coaching stuff.

So basically I was writing for Harvard Paroxys on the back when it was on the ESPN True Network

doing some X's and O's stuff for Bleacher Report but my background in basketball was essentially

watching like everybody else played varsity in high school but you know didn't play college,

didn't manage my college team but I always wanted to get into basketball so I decided to start

applying for jobs, emailing, GM's, video coordinators, anyone I could get my hands on pretty much

face-to-face conversation at Summer League and one of those conversations basically led to a

video internship with Four Wayne and at the time Four Wayne was independent they weren't owned by

the Pacers so I got to do pretty much everything with the staff and we only had our head coach Conor

Henry our lead assistant Steve Gansy who's now the head coach of the Madance and myself and two

other interns so running drills and practice you know setting up all the film running film sessions

pretty much everything you could imagine doing as a coach I was doing from the get-go so really

thrown into the fire and I did that for three years and we won a championship in my first year

lost to the Golden State Warriors, Deleg team, Santa Cruz Warriors my second year we actually beat
