Sam Quentin is a very unique prison in that its location, being in a very progressive,

liberal place, is that there's a lot of people like me who want to do interesting things to

sort of help and to contribute. And people like me who have had virtually no serious adversity in my life as a straight

white dude from a good family who yeah I mean has basically had everything teed up for me my

whole life and learning that that's not how most people grow up and so I've become very close with convicted murderers, you know,

through my experience and are people who I now consider friends, you know, if I can use that word.

And I think it just speaks to the ability for humans to redeem themselves.
