I'm Deborah Stewart, a youngian analyst on Cape Cod. Many of us are familiar with the wonderful Disney story of Dumbo of the flying elephant. I remember the on one

who discovers this incredible magical ability

the process of coming in touch with a potential that someone else sees before we're able to really hold it ourselves.

We'll talk about the importance of having a symbol

to represent our potential.

We'll talk a little bit about the absolutely important role of a relationship both in the therapeutic process of analysis, but also in being

companioned throughout our life, because often it's our friends

with the people who love us that see what we could be when we're particularly feeling low or

misunderstood or alienated and at the end of our discussion, we're going to interpret a dream submitted by a

retired teacher where an elephant plays a central role in helping her make a major life transition.
