So Duke in Michigan played a well of a basketball game Saturday night in the district.

It was labeled the Capitol City Showcase, the duel in the district.

I mean, there were lots of labels for the game.

College basketball was here in D.C.

Who knew it could be a big deal here in D.C.

Pete Thammel at one point during college game day for ESPN, said, and I'm paraphrasing,

for a city that loves its basketball but doesn't't have big time pro basketball or college basketball, this is the most important and expensive ticket this city's ever seen.

Yeah, I mean, our pro basketball team has stunk for a while, and we've got a couple of colleges in town that play college basketball, but apparently literally are irrelevant at this point.

And Duke and Michigan took over. Look, I was in Bethesda for lunch on Saturday at about 2 o'clock, 132.

I couldn't believe, I could not believe,

how many Michigan and Duke people were walking around.

I mean, look, there are a lot of Michigan alums.

There are a lot of Duke alums in our market,

and it's the perfect spot to play game like that.

You know, and by the way, let me just be clear on something,

because somebody said something to me over the weekend about my thoughts on this last week.

I am not suggesting at all that monumental or Ted or anybody that had anything to do with this

shouldn't have welcomed this.
