Folks, as I have discussed many times on this podcast, making it in the world of professional

wrestling is not easy.

To make it in the WWE is incredibly harder.

Everything has to absolutely fall into place.

And I'm talking about a lot of things.

And once you make it, you then soon learn that it is

just as tough to survive out of the ring as it is in it. My guest this week is a former superstar

with the WWE, Mike Drosie, better known as Duke the Dumster Drosie. Mike, welcome to prime time.

How are you? Thank you. I'm glad to be on your show. I appreciate

you having me. Well, you know, I know that was Duke a name that you got as a kid or is that

was that something that came through wrestling? Duke came through wrestling. Actually, Shane McMahon

gave it to me the day I showed up to do my

initial vignettes because I had already been wrestling as the garbage man, Rockwood Gibraltar,

but they kept the character, the gimmick, but of course they wanted to put their own spin on the name

for licensing purposes. So, you know, I kind of showed up and sat at the office with Shane for a little bit.

And he goes, we've been throwing around some ideas. So we think it's going to be Duke the dumpster, Drosie. And Drosie, of course, being my real last name. So we went with that. We immediately went out on the streets and started cutting vignettes on the back of garbage trucks. did you like duke i mean uh you know i always

think of john way i hear that i don't know if uh you're like hey you know okay it works

yeah i always i always did like it i like the name uh you know of course that was during that

time with the real gimmicky characters so i you know anything with a catchy name with some

alliteration in it you know can't you can't go wrong with it

so I thought it was a cool name too and I always thought of John Wayne as well yeah and I'll tell you I
