A driver rammed his vehicle into a large synagogue in West Bloomfield Township in Michigan Thursday,

exchanged gunfire with the security guard

and an attack that set off fears across the country. The driver was killed. The security guard

was injured. Eight first responders were being treated at a local hospital. All of the students

and staff at the Temple preschool were uninjured. Oakland Sheriff Mike Bouchard said the suspect

breached the facility by driving through the doors.

The car caught fire after something ignited inside the car.

And the suspect was found dead inside the vehicle.

Temple Israel, that's the name of the synagogue that was attacked, is a synagogue serving

a large congregation in Michigan.

Later in the day, it was reported that the vehicle involved in the attack at

that synagogue is registered to a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Lebanon, who currently

resides in Dearborn, Michigan, according to law enforcement forces. Law enforcement also in

recent months, particularly the FBI office in Detroit, had posted on

social media that they had led an active shooter drill at the synagogue. And obviously the

synagogue had security lined up. And that security saved countless lives. As far as this

recording goes, there were no fatalities at all other

than the would-be attacker. The name of the attacker not yet been released, but as I said,

reports indicate he's a naturalized citizen from Lebanon, of course Israel, Lebanon in hot fights
