that I have even considered changing the way I publish content on the internet.

That method in the past has been you have hosting and you pay for that hosting and you manage that hosting and your website might even be something you made yourself

or at the very least you're using third-party software that you can easily maintain, update, change, tweak, whatever.

That's been my modus for the longest time that I can think of.
