And, you know, normally we think, well, you know, it's Monday morning.

Sadly, not the case. Stuff happens over the weekend. Who knew,

Minna, what happened? Senators reached a bipartisan agreement Sunday to end the record long U.S.

government shutdown, advancing the measure in a 60-40 vote after weeks of

gridlock. The deal funds several key departments through next fall, extending government

operations through January 30th, and fully finances the SNAP food assistance program.

But it drops the Democrats' push to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies, a major

concession to Republicans. Under pressure to end the shutdown, eight Democrats abandoned their

department to protect health care credits for millions, settling instead for a non-binding promise of a future Senate vote with no
