Hello and welcome to the DSR Daily. I'm David Rothkopf. I'm joined by Riley Fessler and Minnestine. A lot of things going on in the world. So let's kick it off.

Following the fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens by federal immigration officers in Minnesota, President Trump announced that his administration intends to de-escalate operations in the state. While the Department of Homeland Security initially claimed the

shooting of Alex Preddy was an act of self-defense, eyewitness accounts and preliminary reports have

contradicted those claims, sparking national outcry and bipartisan calls for an investigation.

In response to the unrest, the administration replaced Greg Bovino with border czar Tom

Holman to oversee the transition and coordinate with Minnesota officials.

Despite the shift in strategy and ongoing legal scrutiny, the White House continues to defend

its broader deportation initiative as a successful effort to reduce crime.

Yeah, and they just can't stay on

message. You know, even this morning as we're doing this, Trump just put out a true social

because the mayor of Minneapolis said we're not going to enforce certain federal laws. And Trump's

like, oh, yeah, well, we'll come at you. And they're planning

to go into Philadelphia. And they're ramping up operations in Maine. And they don't want to back

down in Minneapolis, apparently, because they want to make sure that they can keep doing what

they're doing in L.A. and Chicago. So don't expect this to go away. Don't fall for it. Greg Sargent, our friend and
