Hello and welcome to DSR Daily. I'm David Rothkopf, joined by Riley Fessler and Minas Stein. We're still here in Washington, freezing our butts off. Riley was in New York, freezing his

butt off. Did you have fun in New York, Riley? I did, but as those who

follow me on Instagram know, my trip back was brutal because Amtrak overbooked our train,

so I had to stand in the aisle for two hours, which was very fun. Those of you who had to take

the Amtrak this weekend, you have my sympathies.

Well, I can say sometimes, you know, we talk about the news, but we don't talk about really,

you know, the stories that are important. There is no way that there is a route between a

C and a D city in China that is not better served than what you get on Amtrak.

I mean, you know, they're building railroads now that travel at the speed of 737s and are way more comfortable inside with nice meals and nice stations.

And we are just lagging behind.

I mean, it sounds like you were in one of those scenes from the movie Gandhi

where you had to ride on top of the railroad car.

Yeah.

I mean, it was literally like you couldn't really move.

You couldn't go to the bathroom.

It was just chock full of people who were all pissed off.
