And if I seem a little hesitant, it's because it's Monday morning and I don't know where I am or what, you know, what's going on in the world.

It was an incredibly busy news weekend. So we have plenty to get to.

You want to kick us off? I would be honored too. Okay. Hungarian Prime Minister, Victor Orban, conceded defeat after 16 years in power as challenger Peter Majjar won a decisive parliamentary majority.

The election reflected voter frustration with economic problems, corruption allegations,

and Orban's increasingly authoritarian rule, despite support from figures like J.D. Vance

and ties to Russia.

Majar's victory signals a major political shift with promises to

restore democratic institutions and strengthen Hungary's relationship with the European Union and NATO.

Yeah, this is a very big deal because the way the EU works, if one state doesn't go along with something, it gets stopped.

So, for example, they wanted to put together a big aid package for Ukraine.

Orban stopped it.

But it's also a big deal because Orban, in 16 years, made Hungary a kind of a global hub for this right-wing ethno-nationalist,

anti-democratic movement that may have originated in the Kremlin, with which he had very close ties, but extended around the world,

Donald Trump, to Bibi Netanyahu, to Narendra Modi in India, to Bolsonaro when he was in Brazil,
