Music Hello everyone and welcome to Druidcast episode 87.

I am your host Dave the Bard and Druidcast is brought to you by the Order of

Bards, Ovates and Druids. What a show I have for you this month. We are freshly back from the

Order's 50th anniversary gathering in Glastonbury where 400 members and friends of the Order

gathered from all over the world to celebrate together.

It was an unbelievable four days.

We had a 400-seater marquee in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey for the Saturday and the Sunday.

We were in the town hall and the weekend was bookended with an amazing fringe event

with our exhibitions, talks, workshops and rituals

happening all over the town. Now, there are nearly 17,000 of us in the order, so that 400 were

the lucky ones who could make the event itself. But for those who couldn't be there, we recorded

nearly 14 hours of material that I'll be playing to you over the coming months.

Some fantastic interviews and talks are on their way, folks.

As well as the fringe events, we had a morning gathering on the Saturday morning, a huge ceremony on Glastonbury tour.

Then we all gathered again in the Abbey grounds for

a nice Stethford, made up of some of the Order's honorary bards. Now that finished about

11 o'clock at night and then 200 people were up, like half past three in the morning and on

coaches to Stonehenge and Avebury for dawn rituals at both sites.
