Now according to the CDC, since 1999, the year the Matrix came out, over 932,000 people have died from a drug overdose in the states,

and since 1999 overdoses involving opioids have increased eight times.

All of this led to a huge increase in drug rehab centers in the US,

places you could go to supposedly get clean.
