Now on with the Thursday edition. A U.S. drone strike in Baghdad killed at least one leader of an Iran-backed militia on Wednesday.

A nighttime attack, the U.S. military says it conducted a unilateral strike in Iraq in response to the

attacks on U.S. service members killing a Khatib Hasbala commander responsible, they say,

for directly planning and participating in attacks on U.S. forces in the region. That's according to U.S.

Central Command and a statement released on X. The Iraqi military command said it was investigating

an attack on a civilian car that killed the passengers inside.

Video verified by an Iraqi Interior Ministry official showed an SUV engulfed in flames.

The U.S. military said they had no indications of collateral damage or civilian casualties at this point.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected Hamas' proposed ceasefire terms,

saying total victory in Gaza is possible within months.

He was speaking after Hamas laid out a series of demands in response to an Israel-backed ceasefire

proposal.

Netanyahu said negotiations with the group were not going anywhere, described their terms as,

quote, bizarre. Talks are
