Unfortunately, it seems Donald Trump and his Republican henchmen are held benching us toward a government funding shutdown, rather than saving health care for their constituents.

They've already fired 150,000 federal workers without any approval for us in

Congress. And that is, I think they're going to continue to do that, decimate federal agencies

and skewer the very things that keep costs down for Americans and allow Americans to thrive.

The clock is ticking this hour.

The United States Senate is set to begin voting on two government funding bills.

Both are expected to fail, meaning in just seven hours, the United States government

will shut down.

There has been plenty of back and forth and finger

pointing from lawmakers, but the bottom line is this. Despite running the House and the Senate and the

White House, Republicans are the ones driving the government into the ground at a time when a majority

of the public already disapproves of how Donald Trump is managing the federal

government. In addition to the 750,000 government employees who would be furloughed due to this

shutdown tonight, here's a little bit of how this affects all of us. The CDC has said communications

to the American public about health-related information will be impacted.

The Department of Transportation said hiring and training of air traffic controllers would be suspended. It would stop.

All active duty personnel, the United States military and the National Guard must continue their assigned duties, but they will get paid until the shutdown ends.

And at this critical moment for our economy, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said this month's

jobs report could be delayed, and data collection for future reports would be paused,

making further economic decisions and accurate information all the more difficult to access.
