I'm really eager to do that with you, the interaction time, so I will try to keep this

shorter than longer.

Let me tell you where I'm heading and then we'll go there together and then we'll stop and talk about whatever you want to talk about.

As you can see from the outline this is called drinking deep for God's

sake. The preacher's place at the wells of joy and my thinking here is that if the first two talks were to highlight the

supremacy of God in preaching and the pursuit of radical obedience for his supremacy in the life of our people.

And there's a way to preach, the question then becomes how do you become that kind of preacher and stay that kind of preacher?

What can you do? What are strategies in your own life that will help you to stay alive and in love with God. So that's what I'd like to talk about for

a little while here and let's pray before we do that.

Father in heaven I that.

Father in heaven, I ask for wakefulness now and energy and mental alertness and spiritual life.

Incline our hearts to your testimony and not to get in gain.

Open the eyes of our heart that we may behold wonders out of your word.

Be our teacher in this hour, we pray.

Enlighten the eyes of our hearts as well as our minds, we ask.

Guard us from the blinding effects of the God of this world who is a deceiver from the beginning and who loves to distort and create imbalance and confusion where there is light and simplicity.

So I've drawn to you now and help us, Lord.

I pray that the impact here would be to enable us to find the pace to finish the rice in Jesus'

name.

That's a little slogan at our church that we've used for these many years because we have found ourselves from time to time at a sprint pace saying,

this isn't going to work for a marathon.

And so you help each other as a staff, if you have another person,
