Today we are going to be interviewing Drew Holman from Back to Mother as the name of the company.

The website is backtomother.earth. I like websites like that.

I don't mean websites. I like URLs like that. Like our farm website is 9mile.Farm.

I think it's kind of a good clever marketing thing to put together domains like that in a world where

almost anything that's relatively short and snappy with a .com on it's either doing something

or main squatted on it and some person wants a bunch of money forward that it probably ain't worth.

But all of these alternative domains. I know it's not really what we're talking about today,

but actually we are because we're going to talk about what led Drew to actually go down this path

as an entrepreneur and build a company again called Back to Mother.

They specialize in living and fermented foods. They do a little bit with ceramics businesses as well.

They actually operate under a business organization that is an employee owned co-op.

And I'm interested in this because I have, that sounds cool. And I also have some concerns.

As someone who has always found the given somebody equity in a business prior to it being earned is bad.

I'm wondering what kind of safeguards there are to prevent, you know,

basically a great big dumbbell weight hanging off of your neck while you're trying to build a business.
