Cass, I would like to start off today's episode by proclaiming my love.

It's a rather deep abiding love that has spanned for more than half of my life at this point.

Maybe a borderline obsession that rivals my love of scaper rally, who, as we know by now,

if I had to pick just one favorite fashion designer, it would definitely be her.

And when the same question is applied to artists, the subject of today's podcast is definitely

in my top three favorite artists of all time. And we are, of course, speaking about the incomparable

Marcel Duchamp. Oh, yeah. And I mean, it is in no way a stretch to say that Duchamp is one of the

most important and influential of the early 20th century modern artists. I mean, his questioning

of what is and is not art, shook the very foundations of the art historical canyon when he started

producing installation works now over a century ago. It's a discourse as we know April that is

a very relevant today. I mean, about six months ago, you actually brought up his work in the

context of a conversation we were having about the current state of affairs of Balenciaga.

And questioning if this house had, you know, lost its way a bit in this pursuit of publicity

over creativity, that point now seems to be illustrated all that much clearer given reason

events of the last few weeks at Balenciaga. And as we noted, then the question of what is and is

not art is only a short sidestep from the question, what is and is not fashion. And throw in there,
