The news is exciting. A night of the seven kingdoms will be coming to HBO, and even though

it'll be a few minutes before the show actually gets made, this calls for a dedicated discussion.

Heavy aren't imagination, but anchored within the framework of the Hedge Knight, aka the first

novella featuring Duncan Egg. The title of this podcast episode is Dreams of Duncan Egg,

and it has a mini-tiered meaning. We shall be dreaming of how this series will manifest on TV,

as well as dreaming how the dreams within the story will manifest. And in turn, we shall dream

on those dreams. Ah, yes. Dreamception, yes, that's right. Dreams are, of course, a big part of the

Duncan Egg series. Arguably bigger than in other eras, which is interesting because it's a

dragonless era of which Maester Aiman, Egg's older brother, very important, will say much later

during a song of Ice and Fire, quote. I see them in my dream, Sam. I see a red star bleeding in the

sky. I still remember red. I see their shadows on the snow, hear the crack of leather wings feel

their hot breath. My brother is dreamed of dragons too, and the dreams killed them, everyone.

Everyone, he says, dare on the drunkard, Aryan bright flame, and egg, aka egg on the unlikely,

egg on the fifth. Clearly a major element dreams here, but also House of the Dragon has added

egg on the first dreams to the fold, which then have passed down sort of, and it seems likely

those threads will connect a bit or a lot, probably not all at once, of course, but over the course

of the series that will lower willing will run for several seasons. That is a lot for us to
