Summary

Julie Hartman sits in for Dennis. Arguably the most consequential topic of our time – our relations with China. Monday Xi Jinping bluntly rebuked the US, saying that there’s a Washington led campaign to suppress China: “Western countries – led by the US – have implemented all round containment, encirclement, and suppression against us, bringing unprecedentedly severe challenges to our country’s development.” Julie examines the growing conflict. 21 states have legalized recreational marijuana since 2012 and teen mental health problems have been on the rise in the same period. The 40,000 hours of surveillance footage held from the public, has raised some interesting facts about January 6th. Many of us are sick of this and want to avoid it but we cannot… the media has lied about it and exploited it for political gain. Whatever it was, it was not a “deadly insurrection” as the legacy media so carefully described it… truth is not a left-wing value. It never has been. Julie surveys the long and tortured history of America’s involvement in Iraq, spanning the administrations of both Bush, the elder, and Bush, the younger. It’s a mixed bag of lofty ambitions, stunning liberations and naive miscalculations.

Just a quick word about Dennis and Julie, we just celebrated our one-year anniversary episode number 52, just launched, though now that I'm thinking about it.

0:59.0

Actually, episode 53 would mark one year, so maybe I'm a bit premature here with the bragging about the one-year mark, but hey, on Monday, it will be our one-year mark of Dennis and Julie.

1:11.0

There's a lot of news today that I'm going to cover, certainly these January six tapes that Tucker Carlson has released is big news, also the kidnapping of four Americans in Mexico on Friday, two of whom tragically have been found dead.

1:55.0

But to start off this show, I'd like to talk to you about arguably the most consequential topic of our time, and that is our relations with China.

2:08.0

Which in the past few months, and in the past few days, as I'm about to tell you, have become increasingly hostile.

2:16.0

On Monday, President Xi Jinping of China bluntly rebuked the United States in an address to fellow government members.

2:25.0

He said, quote, western countries led by the United States have implemented all round containment encirclement and suppression against us, bringing unprecedented severe challenges to our country's development.

2:40.0

Again, this was on Monday, and this marks a pretty blunt harsh rebuke of the United States.

2:47.0

It's a secret that our relations with China have been hostile, but this is sort of kicking it up a step.

2:54.0

And then on Tuesday, Xi Jinping's foreign minister, King Geng, excuse me, said that unless the United States changes course with its policy towards China, quote, there will surely be conflict and confrontation.

3:11.0

Given that just last month, the Pentagon said that China officially has more intercontinental ballistic missile launchers than the United States, also given that China is developing killer satellites in outer space, which have the capability to shoot down other satellites, of course, including ours, and also given the fact that by 2035 people don't know this, but it's true.

3:34.0

China and Russia are planning to administer a joint Chinese Russian permanently manned moon base.

3:42.0

These comments by Xi Jinping have a lot of relevance to us now, and we need to take them seriously, especially because it appears that China is trying to see how we react to their words and actions, to see that if we are indeed strong enough to react appropriately.

4:02.0

I suspect that that is what the balloon incident of last month was about. If you think about it, it's a pretty absurd thing for China to send a blimp, even though it wasn't a blimp, it was sort of like a blimp, but certainly looked like one over the United States for quote unquote surveillance, even though they have satellites, which have the even stronger capabilities than a balloon would have as far as surveillance.
