Today is day two of Larry Masset Tribute Week.

He made this story for Rumble Strip around 10 years ago.

It's called Drag Out.

It's an argument between Larry and his friend Joe Frank, who died a few years ago.

And even though they're both dead now, I think that the argument that they have here is still

pretty relevant today. So here's dragout.

Larry Massett owns two Porsches, and he talks about them all the time. In fact, it's almost

all he ever talks about. His friend, Joe Frank,

in addition to being one of the greatest radio producers of all time, is a BMW guy. Which is the

superior car? The Porsche? The BMW? Joe and Larry have agreed to race, and this race will decide

things. But in the meantime, they're just going to go on and on and on about their cars.

Well, I find it remarkable that you would use a term like that to describe the finest automobile in the world,

the BMW. Back when you were first going to buy that car, which I have seen one time, it's a huge

hulking, I think it's dark blue, four-door sedan. And you were saying, I really want to buy this car, but I don't want people to

think I'm the kind of person who would drive one. I never said that. I never said that.

You said it over and over. You're misrepresenting. Going through agonies of indecision,

and I didn't at the time know what kind of people would actually drive one of those

things, but now I understand you are the kind of person who would drive one of those things.
