The Dribblecast is an audio fiction magazine that brings strange stories by

strange authors to strange listeners such as yourself. I'm your host, Norm Sherman.

We bring you a lovely little story this week, just lovely, a treblecast original by Portia B. B Erie called Trunk to Trunk.

It's kind of like it reminds me of a Drabble Cast Just So Story.

You familiar with those? The Just So Stories by Rudard Kipling?

It's a children's anthology that began as nightly bedtime

stories Kipling told to his daughter Effie to go to sleep, and every word had to be told

just so, according to Kipling, or Effie would, quote,

absolutely lose her effing toddler shit, unquote,

and make him start all over again.

Which I bet just ultimately put her to sleep faster, I would think.

Kids are dumb.

Anyways, the reason I love the Just So stories is because of course they're all about

badass animal origins.

Fantastic accounts of how various animal features came to be, like how the

tiger got its stripes, the camel got its hump, and the telephint got its chainsaw trunk.

He killed a giant crab for it.

And now you know.
