No one could believe it. He was a constant in all their lives.

Figurehead, monolith, protector.

Now, in only a few horrible seconds their world and hero had come tumbling down.

How could he fall? Someone pushed him. Our father who art and look at the yolks!

The village priest, accompanied by all the king's men, knelt over the shattered remains

and shut poor Humpty's glazed eyes.

He's gone.

Their howls of pain echoed over the great wall.
