He tries to ignore the howling and shrieking drifting on the wind.

He thinks of anything but the stories he's overheard,

their insides ripped out, of their faces frozen in fear as if they were lit on fire.

It's hard to believe the horrors,

yet here he is alone in the middle of the field.
