I wrote a book several years ago, I'm back in the 90s, it was called a Promise is a Promise

and it was the story of a woman who was taken care of her daughter who was in a coma.

It was about a, the woman her name was Keo Barra and she was taken care of her daughter,

her daughter slipped into a coma on 3rd of January in 1970 when she was 17 years old.

She was a diabetic and she had taken an oral form of insulin and she got the flu and then

she vomited up all of her insulin and so she slipped into this coma and as she was slipping into

the coma, she said to her mother, you won't leave me, well you won't leave me in the last words

her mother said to her, she said no, I will never leave you a promise and a promise is a promise.

So I read about her, it was 25 years after that in 1995 that I read a story about her in the

in the newspaper down in Florida at my home and I was just so touched by this woman's

selfless dedication to her daughter and living up to her promise that she had to actually set

next to her and put her into her home and would feed her through a tube and so on and refuse to

have life support removed from her because she knew that she would starve to death and she just

couldn't bring herself to do that and so she stayed in the coma and the mother just slept in

a chair next door for 25 years and then I got to know the family, I sent them a copy of one of my

books that I had written, a book called Real Magic and I went down to visit them in Miami a lot

it's been a lot of time with them and decided to write this book and to have all of the proceeds

all of the profits, all of the royalties and everything go directly to the family to help them with that

and then Kay died about oh maybe four or five years ago and meanwhile Edward was still in the coma
