Dr. Titus Kennedy is a professional field archaeologist, an adjunct professor at Biola University,

a research fellow at Discovery Institute, and has been a consultant, writer, and guide for history

and archaeological documentaries and curricula. He currently directs archaeological projects in

Bible lands, and he's researched and photographed artifacts from all around the world.

Dr. Kennedy, it's so great to have you with us on takeaways.

Oh, thank you for having me, Kurt.

And you just don't look like the archaeologist that I was expecting when I met you.

I mean, I'm thinking Indiana Jones, a guy covered in mud, you know, carrying a backpack and an axe.

But you really are a real world archaeologist.

Yeah, maybe if you came out on the site, there'd be more of that.

The pickaxe, a backpack for sure, some dirt.

So have you ever found yourself as an archaeologist,

like Indiana Jones, like trapped in an ancient chamber, dodging blow darts, trapped doors in

giant rolling boulders? No, nothing quite that dramatic. They've been in a few pretty

interesting caves, really tight spots, but it's bugs usually, not snakes or, you know, mud, not flying poison darts.

So more fear factor than Indiana Jones.

Yeah, a little more realistic survival show type of thing than Hollywood movie.

Okay.

This is so fascinating to me. I mean, I love hearing about

archaeological digs. And I'm curious, what got you into this field of work? Was your dad an

archaeologist? He was not. He actually was into academics and had studied some archaeology and

history in college. but for me it was
