Hey guys and welcome to episode 120 of the OCD stories

dot com podcast and this episode I got back on a listener favorite and that is Dr Stephen Philipson.

Now Stephen and I wanted to both talk about O. C.D. which are two very different disorders.

And the reason I'm going to talk about them

is to kind of really outlay the difference between the two.

Obviously, the media and then the public pick up this idea of I'm so

CD which causes stigma it causes misconceptions it slows down or take longer for people to get a diagnosis or take the right treatment

because they don't know they have OCD because they think OCD is

is just about neatness or orderliness and even though the media talks about you

know this orderliness this neatness it's closer to the diagnosis of OCPD but even the media is doing people with OCPD a disservice.

So in this episode we talk about what Ocede is, what it isn't, we talk about what OCPD is,

Obsessive Propulsive Personality Disorder,

compared to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

We also talk about whether OCPED should be named something different to help separate or make that distinction clearer, which may remove some stigma from both disorders

So it was an interesting episode when we get into general sort of OCD stuff as well

I always learn a lot when I chat with Stephen so I think you're going to enjoy this one.

So anyone who's new to the world of OCD or ACPD or the stigma around I'm so ACD.

I think you're going to learn a lot and if you have OCD or

acip d I think this will help clear out the difference between the two and hopefully

both those diagnosis won't get tangled up and won't get stigmed within the media anymore because they're both

troubling and serious conditions.
