Dr. Shoshannah Frydman, PhD, LCSW is the Executive Director of Shalom Task Force. Dr. Frydman is a trauma informed therapist and advocate where she has worked in the field of domestic abuse and family violence within the Jewish community for close to 20 years. Dr. Frydman co-chairs the UJA Taskforce on Family Violence, a collaboration of community agencies and leaders that work collaboratively to best provide support and recourses to vulnerable populations effected by family violence.

Dr. Frydman lectures regularly about intimate partner abuse, sexual abuse, trauma and culturally informed practice where she has published on this and related subjects. Shana has been honored by the Jewish Communal Service Association and the New York Board of Rabbis for her work in the field of domestic violence and commitment to the Jewish community.

But essentially they are, I'm probably butchering what it is, but they're a hotline that people

call when they are getting abused, both whether it's physical abuse, mental abuse, spiritual abuse.

There's so many things that we do in so many times. And I believe it's more than just a hotline.

It's an entire organization that is filled with therapists, like colleges, doctors that are there

to help people who are in these awful situations. And the term abuse is something that it's very,

I think, broadly defined. And Shalom Task Force does an incredible job within the community,

but abroad. And Dr. Shana Friedman is behind all of that.

I myself got a lot of education from this specific episode. Obviously there's the classics,

you know, the stories that we all hear. But I think it's more those events that are more subtle,

whether it's any marriage or it's in a workplace that I don't think before this episode,

I was able to identify, but after having this conversation with Dr. Shana,

I mean, we had it a few weeks ago. But like, after since then, I've literally seen people.

And I'm like, that is total manipulation. That is total abuse. That is not healthy.

Like get them out of my life. Something I do want to mention that Shalom Task Force also does
