BBC Radio 1's mini-mix.

Hello, it's Danny Howard, back with another Radio 1 mini-mix,

and wow, are you in for a treat this week?

So at the time that this went out on my Radio 1 show,

every single Friday, 6pm,

it was the first week of December,

which is traditionally the time where you would have your Christmas party,

your office party,

and even though some of them still went ahead, a lot of people's didn't. Cheers COVID.

So we thought, let's get people in the mood anyway. Let's get people in that headspace,

but with an amazing soundtrack. So we drafted in King of the Edit, Dr. Packer. Now, Dr. Packer is known for making amazing, like, high-quality remixes, bootlegs and edits of Old House and Disco Records. So he is

the perfect man for this job. He also said the idea behind the minimix was to select a load of

music that inspired him growing up, but not using

the originals, but his own enhanced, updated reworks, which he says always go off on the dance

floor. And I'm sure they're going to go off during this mini-mix. Also in there, loads of like

old-school DMC hip-hop background style mixing, like scratching, cutting, sort of like the traditional old school

mega mix style tricks and everything in there. Anyway, let's just get into it. It is a party in

five minutes. It is the mini mix. It is Radio One. It is Dr. Packer. It's disco party time.
