Hey deserve our listeners, I want to talk about hubris, specifically my hubris.

Something happened recently that reminded me of my hubris and my overconfidence. But first let's define hubris. I like a good

definition. One way of defining it is that hubris is having excessive

confidence and arrogance, often leading to one's downfall.

So too confident, possibly arrogant, leading to actions taken by the person with too much confidence that leads to negative consequences for that individual.

And we can't talk about hubris without talking about Ikeris from Greek mythology.

The story goes that Ikeris and his father, Datalis, were imprisoned by a king and Daedus and Ichris wanted to escape the prison and since

Daedus was a master craftsman in prison, Daedless made wings for him and his son.

Out of the feathers that birds had shed from molting, I believe, He also got the threads from the blankets from their bed. He also used the leather

straps from their sandals and he managed to get his hands on some beeswax. There were bees around and he used these

materials to make wings for him and his son. Before flying away from the prison,

Daedus warned his son, Icarus,

not to fly too low, or else the water from the sea,

the mist from the sea, would soak the feathers and cause the

wings to fall apart or fail.

Datalis also told Icarus not to fly too high, to not fly too close to the sun, or the heat would melt the wax, causing the feathers to fall out and Icarus to fall from the sky.

So Icarus and Daedalus flew from the sky. So Ikeris and Daedalus flew from the prison. Everything was going well.

Ikeris got overly confident. He had hubris. He decided to have some fun.

He flew too close to the sun, the wax melted,

Well, I had my Icarus moment last week. So let me give some background. It was a family
