Welcome to Middays. I'm Susie Larson. So honored to get to spend this time with you. In fact, I look forward to bringing you conversations every single day that hopefully inspire you in your faith walk, the deep in your understanding of God's Word, and that heightens your awareness of his very real presence in your life. A couple of days ago, a friend texted

me a picture from one of my older books entitled, Embracing Your Freedom. So I wrote this book

over a decade ago, and the words I'm about to read, I'd actually said to my three sons on this

one Thanksgiving morning, about 13 years ago. It was a Thanksgiving

morning. I think it was around 2007 or so. Kevin and I, Mahabee and I, just sensed a shift

in the atmosphere, in the culture, like something just shifted, and we felt it, and we knew it.

We were just seeing evidences of it in the way people were behaving and just the way news

was reporting. And so we took our boys

to this riverbed. It was a cold Thanksgiving morning up here in the Upper Midwest, and it was a

place where two rivers converged into one river and create just a raging current. They were wrapped in

blankets. They had their little cups of hot cocoa. And we each issued kind of a charge to our boys.

They were adolescents. One was a young teen. And this is what we said to them. And my friend texted me

this the other day. She said, I just can't believe that you said this all these years ago.

We are in a day of acceleration, is what I said to them. Everything is moving faster. The rivers of

holiness and the rivers of evil are raging, and each person must

choose where he or she wants to go and wants to grow. Where once a bit of anger turned to a brief

conflict, it now turns to murder. Where once when people didn't get their way, they got irritated,

now they walk away from God-ordained marriages, churches, jobs, relationships. So take care of your sins
