Anyway, James was born in 1789 in Cork Island and moved to London when he was a teenager

with his mother.

While in London, a plan was hatched for James to begin presenting as male and to go to medical

school in Edinburgh.

This plan was carried out,

possibly with the help of some of his late uncle's close friends who were taking an interest

in James and his mother and who we know were aware of the plan, but that's all quite complicated.
