Dr. Gary O'Toole devoted the first part of his life to becoming the best swimmer he possibly could.

He won medals, represented Ireland at the Olympics, won gold at the World University Games and bronze at the European

championships. All the while he was oblivious to the horrific sexual and psychological abuse being

carried out upon dozens of his teammates by the coach in charge of Irish swimming for all those

years. Then in 1990 on a flight to a competition in Australia

one of the assistant coaches Chalky White

asked Gary if he had been abused like he had

nothing would ever be the same again

Dr Gary O'Toole was in his early 20s when he said about

gathering together the stories of all the victims

he could find so that George Gibney could be

imprisoned. What happened next, the courage of those victims and how Gibney evaded jail and
