I'm really excited to talk with you your book is called how to be yourself quiet your inner critic and rise above social anxiety and I know this is something that a lot of our listeners deal with and are going to be really happy to hear about so we'll get into the book in a second but let's start like we always do with the parable.

There's a grandfather who's talking with his granddaughter and he says in life there are two wolves inside of us that are always a battle.

What is a good wolf which represents things like kindness and bravery and love and the others a bad wolf which represents things like greed and hatred and fear.

And the granddaughter stops and she thinks about it for a second and she looks up at her grandfather she says well grandfather which one wins and the grandfather says the one you feed.

So I'd like to start off by asking you what that parable means to you in your life and in the work that you do.

Absolutely so so since we are here to talk about social anxiety and how to rise above it overcome it we might assume that social anxiety is the bad wolf and it's you know it's certainly not like greed or or hatred.

It's definitely not in that camp but you know it holds a lot of people back it keeps a lot of people from living if they want to live but I will argue that actually it's not all bad for two reasons.
