where what you think about why neoliberalism is why the revolt is so strongly against neoliberalism than against

you know the conservative trajectory that i think has had a lot of power over the past 40 years

but but before we jump completely into the deep end how are you thank you for joining us we're

thrilled to have you professor at princeton colleague friend, author of many influential books on race and democracy and philosophy.

And most recently, a really amazing book on Baldwin called Begin Again, James Baldwin's America, and its urgent lessons for our time.

How are you? Welcome to the tightrope in our election night party? It's better to be with you

in the midst of this craziness. I mean, this is, this is insane. When we look at the particulars,

the AP just called the race in South Carolina. Lindsay Graham will hold his seat, it seems. So it's an interesting night.

Let's just put it that way, although we see some glimmers of sanity in Arizona, and we haven't

made our way to Wisconsin and Michigan and Minnesota yet,

but this is, this is complicated to put it lightly.

Yeah, yeah.

So what did you, what did you think about the conversation that you were listening into?

Because, you know, I'd love to hear what you think. And of course, because, you know, we, I'd love to hear

what you think. And of course, Cornell, you know, you can reflush it out. But why is this revolt and this

rage against neoliberalism when there's been a stronghold, at least I think a competitive stronghold for

a number of, a number of administrations

and certainly policies that suggest

that there should also be a similar revolt

against, you know, conservatives, right?
