So let me just dispense with all the usual rejoinders and just say,

The Chinese curse is something I think of often, which is, may you live in interesting times.

I think we're going to do well with this, but it's not going to be without pain of all sorts,

economic and physical for those people who actually get the infection.

So we are recording this, obviously, on the shadow of the coronavirus outbreak.
