Coming to live from London, I'm Sean Lay.

It's more than a week since Israeli Defence Forces the IDF started operations inside the

sprawling Jabali refugee camp in northern Gaza. Now airstrikes and artillery fire are reported

to have killed dozens of people there.

There are also reports that 11 people were killed in an attack on a single house in the

smaller very crowded al-Makasey camp in Central Gaza.

Both are run by the UN agency UNRWA. We'll hear from its Gaza directly shortly.

Director shortly. But first, our correspondent, Jonah Fisher, is in Jerusalem. What more can he tell

us about the attack on Jabalia?

From what we were told by the Hamas-run health authorities yesterday evening,

there was either shelling or some sort of strike on some residential buildings.

33 people are according to their reporting dead.

21 of them women and they say that possibly as many as 50 people are dead with 85 people injured.

At the same time, some pretty gruesome footage has emerged on social media of one of the local hospitals with more than a dozen bodies on the floor wrapped

in either shrouds or in blankets and one of the directors of that hospital, Al-Aouda

hospital has been saying that effectively that that hospital is

overwhelmed that everyone who's been brought in injured is having to be

treated on the floor and they are struggling to cope.

So this morning we've been in touch with several other hospitals in Jabalia and near Jabalia

and they are talking about being surrounded by the Israeli military about coming under fire.
