One of the things that we tend not to talk about that often on Navarro media is religion.

That's weird because we talk about literally everything else.

And I think that in part that's because we've absorbed what you might describe as a liberal take on religion.

We like freedom of conscience, we like toleration, and if there's a formal separation between

church and state, then that's just dandy. And there's a lot to be set for that but if you then

back off from the question of belief entirely you're also abdicating some really

key discussions about what are the values that we should share as a society.

How much does it matter that there's consensus around issues like abortion and divorce?

And is faith in itself in something that you can't see? and is my

something that you can't see, you can't feel, you can't touch.

Is that a force for good or a force for ill?

That's Judaism, Christianity and Islam because that's what we both know the most about.

So Aaron, I've known you for a really, really long time and it seems to me that it's only

been within the last couple of years that you've started talking about having a personal faith.

Has anything changed or was there actually a turning point?

Well I do have a personal faith but I'm often very bad at it. I mean that's the first

caveat if somebody's watching this and I think well you haven't been to Mass for several months all

in my defence we've got a newborn baby. I'm not as good as I should be. It's something I'd like to be better at. But yeah, I was baptized and had my first Holy Communion and confirmed and all that. A couple of years ago, I then married my wife in a Catholic ceremony. You were kind enough to join us.
