Every now and again, we have a subject that is so fascinating to me.

I really don't know where to begin.

It's almost like I, let me, let me start here.

Most of us don't think about things like what was the world's first alphabet and how is an alphabet different from written language?

Hieroglyphics, Egyptian hieroglyphics, that's not an alphabet. The way

the Chinese write with characters, that's not an alphabet. When was the first alphabet invented

with letters and sounds? And it opens up a whole fascinating world. And recently, it came to my attention again because I realized that there's a man, Dr.

Douglas Petrovich in Texas, who teaches biblical studies in ancient near Eastern history

and archaeology at the Bible Seminary in Katie, Texas.

And he's written a couple of books that purport to have proven to discover that the first alphabet in the history of the world is Hebrew.

This is, the more you learn about this, the more fascinating and strange and amazing it is.

He has a new book out, Dr. Petrovich, called Origins of the Hebrews, New Evidence of Israelites in Egypt from

Joseph to the Exodus. A previous book is called The World's Oldest Alphabet. Douglas Petrovich,
