I think the way Jesus taught was he always had the weight there.

I call it a moral weight.

Like, let it sit on people and make them uncomfortable.

And then apply the remedy.

But sometimes we go, whew, Jesus paid it all.

Isn't this great?

Because of those truths that Jesus did pay at all,

his ethical teachings mean nothing to us.

They don't press our soul the way they're intended to.
