All right, guys, we've got a special return guest on the show today.

His name is Doug Wilson.

He is a conservative, reformed evangelical theologian and pastor at Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho.

And he's written a bunch of different books like mere Christendom, future men, reforming marriage,

rules for reformers when the man comes around and more.

And today we are talking about his newest book.

Keep Your Kids, How to Raise Strong Kids in an Age of Therapeutic Sentimentalism.

And this guy, he's always fun to talk to and I guess talk about as well.

He's been on episodes 495 and 569 of this podcast. 495, we basically talked about

mere Christiandom the entire time. In 569, we talked about one of the best books,

especially for raising young men, and that's called Future Men. Now, in this particular interview,

I started out by asking him if he feels like we're on the verge of an awakening, a capital A awakening of sorts. You've heard me pose this

question to several different people that have been on the show here recently because it just

feels like we're in that place for a lot of different reasons. I really like some of his delineating

points. And then we started to get into the specific book. Why this book, why there is an issue with

this move towards sentimentalism, how, you know, stop me if you've heard this before, how

focusing on gray areas and nuance is probably a bit problematic. And then specifically what

parents can do if, you know, they're not in a situation where they've got a strong church
