This is Doug Loves Minis, the infotainment show that is more info than tainment,

coming to you from the Doug Ranch, which is like a dude ranch, with no other dudes, and no ranch.

It's Thursday, November 7th, to Oceans 13.

As you may have heard on this week's

Doug Lowe's movies, I'm going to watch a movie a day from now on, in perpetuity, whatever that

means. Every day I'm going to try, I take that back. There is no try. Every day I'm going to

view a different feature-length film that is new to me, Doug's movie

a day, I'm calling it, and each time I see one of these movies, I'm going to tell you about them

on my podcasts. Yesterday's movie, day one, was The Heat, my second favorite Sondra Bullock movie

of the year. I think Sandra Bullock should work with either Melissa McCarthy or George Clooney in every film she does from now on. They could just

alternate between the two. They bring out good in her. I wish I would have seen the heat in a

crowded movie theater because I'm sure it got big, big laughs. Seeing it on VOD by myself,

I had a good time. I still had a few chuckles.

I thought it was funnier, though, in the trailer, when Melissa and Sandra toasted each other

in the bar and the glass breaks, and Sandra shows Melissa her bloody hand, and Melissa passes out.

That was a hilarious sequence of events in the trailer. I love the timing of that. In the film, Melissa just laughs at her and tells her to elevate her hand. I have never been a fan of scenes being different in the movie than they are in the trailer. One could argue that it would be a good surprise for me that it's different than in the trailer, but I just think the funnier version should be in the actual finished movie.

I was looking forward to that moment. The coffee shop tracheotomy scene is disgustingly hilarious.

Nice to see director Paul Feig in a cameo role as dipshit Doctor. And oh, I thought it was cool

that you see a scene from foul play on TV, which featured an albino villain,

and then an albino-looking dude shows up in The Heat.
