Here's your closing bell brief for Thursday, November 13th. I'm Catherine Sullivan for the Wall Street Journal.

U.S. stocks fell sharply today, weighed down by technology shares amid concerns the Federal Reserve

might pause its interest rate-cutting campaign. The NASDAQ led the decline, dropping 2.3% as chip stocks were hit hard. The Dow and the S&P 500 each fell about

1.7%. Among individual companies, shares of Disney dropped 8%, dragging the Dow down after the company

reported lower than expected revenue. Tesla shares skidded nearly 7%, while data center operator Corweave tumbled more than 8%.

Cisco systems bucked the trend, with its shares jumping almost 5% after the cyber networking company raised its outlook.

Flutter entertainment shares dropped 14% after the betting company cut its annual outlook.

Sealed air stock surged roughly 17% following a Wall Street Journal report that a buyout firm is in talks to take the packaging provider private.

And Verizon shares gained nearly 1% after the Wall Street Journal reported the telecom company plans to cut about 15,000 jobs.
