I was probably eight years old and I remember dreaming that I was with my brother and we were

about to walk into these big sand tunnels.

Somehow I knew there were a ton of different layers of them and it was really complicated,

but I stopped outside the sand tunnel entry and I was like, okay, this is going to be

kind of scary maybe.

She remembered this dream last year after hearing about something called lucid dreaming.

It's when you're aware you're dreaming while still in the dream, you're dreaming and

awake at the same time.

Sort of.

Caught between sleep and consciousness.

I don't know how to explain this because I don't even normally dream at all, but I could

kind of see myself asleep in my bed and I was like, okay, this is fine, this is just

a dream.

If it gets too scary, then I'll just wake myself up.

In lucid dreaming, you can often choose how to react to what you encounter.

Some people can even control what happens to them.

And I kind of happily trunnel off into the sand tunnels with my brother and it did get

kind of scary.

The sand tunnel started to collapse on us and I tried to wake myself up, but I couldn't.

So they just continued to collapse on us until I woke up at the end, but not because
