Today we're going to be looking at James chapter 1 versus 5 5 through 8, to examine this issue of what James

calls double-mindedness. Welcome to the morning mindset. This is our opportunity to get our

minds aligned with the truth of God's word for this day. And we're currently in a series

called Mind War, where we're learning to battle for the control and proper functioning

of our own minds. We're going to dig into that in just a moment. Before we do, I want to invite you

All right, we're going to dig into James 1, 5 through 8.

But before we do, we need to pray because God is our teacher,

and we want to rely on Him properly today. So Lord God, give us insight into your word today. We rely on

you to be our instructor, to reveal to us what you want to reveal in our particular setting and

situation. So we're able to apply it

well. We ask you to do this and believe you will in Jesus' name. Okay, now James chapter 1,

verse 5 through 8 is kind of a famous passage. It's about asking God for wisdom. But it has some

powerful teaching for us about this issue of double-mindedness.

Let's read it together. It says, if any of you lacks wisdom, now that's me, I'm going to

raise my hand. I lack wisdom. Let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach,

and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith with no doubting. For the one who doubts
