George Warpole loyally called in to see his friend Hazel every Thursday without fail. Even had his own key to the front door of the property on

Litchfield Avenue in Stratford, East London. As George tried to turn the key in the lock, a bottle of milk left on the front porch

caught his eye.

At that moment he realized the lock had not clicked open. The door must have been bolted from the inside.

Hazel was safety conscious, but the fact that she was not answering the door

made George concern that something had happened to her, so he alerted the police.

When officers gained entry to the property, they found a pile of boxes blocking a cupboard under the stairs.

Faint cries pleading for help were coming from inside. The reality of what had happened to Hazel was far beyond what George

could have ever imagined. It was the most evil horrific crime. the judge called it a particularly grave case of rape

said that it was a brutal vicious attack committed with extreme violence and

depravity. She had to give up her home, her kettle she loved,
